Lawn Seeding Tips

Grass can be classified under two broad categories.

Warm weather grasses.
Cool weather grasses.

Warm Weather Grasses: Most of the warm weather grasses turn brown during cooler seasons.
They are native to tropical areas and succeed even during the sizzling warm. Drought tolerance is seen in some of the grasses of this type. Grasses like Barbados grass, St. Augustine grass and Bahia grass are ideal for Fairfield, California and can be categorized into warm weather grasses

Cool Weather Grasses: These types of grass turn brown during the hot seasons.
They display their drought resistant characteristics by being inactive during certain periods. They maintain their full green colors during cool weather conditions. Some of the grasses that fall into this category are Fescues, Bluegrass and Ryegrass.

Three important rules to follow when seeding a lawn:
  1. High quality seed should always be used
  2. The seed has to make good contact with the soil
  3. Enough water has to be supplied to assure germination

Rake the Area
Use a “rake”to release the ground pressure and remove any obvious weeds or stones. A scattering of enrich Garden Soil worked into your current surface will help to provide a fine seeds bed.
Sow the seed
Rake into the ground surface so that the seeds are covered. For faster, easy results try Patch Magic which contains coir and nourish to help lawn grow anywhere, quickly.
Other Points to be kept in Mind
·         Before you begin seeding a garden, consider the current season. It’s true that seeding can be effective any period, but summer season garden seeding requires a lot more attention, water, and weeds and crabgrass cause a lot more problems. Seeding a garden in late summer season or fall is ideal.
·         There's also more natural water in the fall so less irrigation is needed. Whatever period you select for seeding your garden, make sure to keep the plant seeds wet until you have excellent germination
·         Sprinkle gently several periods a day during hot climate until the garden is 1cm'' high.
·         Avoid any kind of weed management until the new garden has been freshly mowed 4 or 5 times.
·         When your garden achieved 75 mm in size, mow to around 50 mm and sustain this level with frequent
    mowing.

Garden Tips For The Summer

Summer season means that the temperatures of your lawns can be exposed to very high heat and you may want to hire a lawn care professional. This change in heat level or increase in exposure to higher heat can mean your garden may need more special attention. There are a couple of tips which you can take to ensure that you are able to maintain a healthy Lawn. You can still have a very green and lush lawn if you take the following tips and implement them well in the summer seasons. This article is mainly meant for people living in Fairfield CA and Vacaville CA.

One common mistake people make in summer is that they use too much water, especially when watering their gardens. It might seem hard to understand, but too much water can cause problems for your garden. One of the problems is that there might be some soil erosion. Soil erosion occurs more with heavy rainfall, but it can also occur with over watering and where there is loose soil. Soil erosion is bad for any garden because it takes away some key nutrients from the soil base. These nutrients are very important for the roots of plants to grow well. Good root growth will lead to good plant growth consistently—hence you will have a healthy garden.

In contrast, lack of water can also become a problem for gardens. Less water being used for your gardens can cause deficiencies in key nutrients for the plants. The most well-known nutrient that is commonly deficient in gardens is Boron. Boron helps with the use of carbohydrates and the mixing of the water and other nutrients. This process is critical for the proper growth of plants.
You also need to be careful that your garden does not have too much growth in summer. Why is too much growth also a problem? Excessive growth in certain plants is a fertile breeding ground for many insects. There are certain insects which can start eating your plants in the garden, while interrupting the health growth of certain plants. If the growth of these insect populations in your garden is not controlled in time, this can lead to unnecessary expenses by using certain expensive pesticides to kill these insects. Such pesticides can actually kill some of your plants. So it’s best to ensure you prune and maintain your plants in the garden on a regular basis. A good disciplined gardening routine during the summer will ensure that you can achieve this.

The tips above are only a few steps toward achieving a healthy garden in summer. If you are a person who loves gardening, and has a passion for it, there’s no reason why you should not be able to have a healthy garden. You may want to consider a professional landscaper for your garden. A professional landscaper is only really recommended for the summer season where one has to take care of a very large garden, especially ones which are found in certain property estates. Certain landscapers can be affordable, but do a bit of research on the landscaping options available. If you would like to hire a lawn care professional call 707 816 9401 ! 5 Reasons Why You Should Hire a Professional to Care for Your Lawn

We live in an age when D.I.Y-ers are glorified, and that includes in the area of lawn care. The usual argument is that doing your own lawn care will save you money. However, is that really true? Let’s look at some reasons which will debunk that money-saving argument. And more…

Maintaining your lawn will save you money.

Taking care of your lawn may seem cheap or even free, yet it actually incurs hidden charges. First off, if you decide to care for your lawn, you have to buy a whole set of tools such as a lawn mower, an edger, a weed eater, a blower and storage equipment for these paraphernalia. There are also expenses incurred due to inexperience such as when you buy the wrong product, tool or landscaping solution. Hiring a professional, on the other hand, does away with the need to invest in expensive lawn care gear.

Hiring a professional to maintain your lawn will save your lawn.

Caring for your own lawn will make your lawn so-so at best and a wreck at the least. For your lawn to look its best, you need to have not just the knowledge on lawn care 101, but you also have to practice many skills in mowing, fertilizing, core aeration, over-seeding, weeding, and pest control. In the course of your practice, you will often commit mistakes which might cost you your lawn. Yet if you entrust your lawn into the hands of a professional, you are guaranteed that your lawn will thrive and look its best, all year round.

Hiring a professional to maintain your lawn will save your time.

Most of us really do not have the luxury of time. If you think your time off from work has no other use except to spend it on lawn care, then think again. For some, time spent on lawn care had better be spent for quality family time, or for much-needed rest, a well-deserved leisure, or for more productive sideline jobs… the list goes on. Hiring a professional to care for your lawn will free up your most precious commodity – your time.

Hiring a professional to maintain your lawn will save your health.

When you opt to D.I.Y your lawn care, you run the risk of getting overworked, of getting into accidents or being contaminated with all the chemicals you are forced to store around the house. Yet if you opt to hire a professional who has years of experience in lawn care, all the nitty-gritty details are taken care of for you.

Hiring a professional to maintain your lawn will save the environment.

Lawn care service providers are often blamed for harming the environment with their synthetic landscaping products. The truth is that only lawn care professionals have the level of expertise to understand product labels and choose those which are environmentally friendly.
